Ketchup

Make it yourself at home and you will know exactly what goes into that ketchup!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 lbs ripe tomatoes, chopped
  • 3 cups yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced well
  • 1/3 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • pinch cloves
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon salt
  • black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon season salt

INSTRUCTIONS:

1.     Sauté onions until translucent.

2.     Add garlic and sauté an additional 30-60 seconds.

3.     Add remaining ingredients, stir to mix and bring to a boil.

4.     Reduce heat and simmer 45 minutes.

5.     Cool and puree in a blender or food processor.

6.     Return to pot and simmer until thick, approximately 30-45 minutes.
