Homemade Nut Milk

• vegan
• 1 cup raw nuts (almonds are a great place to start)
• 3 cups water

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Start by soaking the nuts in water overnight in the fridge.
2. Place soaked nuts and 3 cups of water in a blender and blend very well until smooth.
3. Pour milk through a fine mesh strainer, cheesecloth or a sprouting bag to separate the pulp from the milk. Don’t throw away the pulp, it is a great additive to muffins, breads and even homemade granola!
4. Press the pulp to remove all the milk.
5. Add your favorite sweetener (agave nectar is my favorite) and even a touch of vanilla if you like.
6. This will keep in the fridge for several days. Shake well before pouring.
